I was generously rewarded by Santa this year, so I thought I would announce the newest additions that will be joining the round and square cake pans! Please give a warm welcome to the Hexagon and the Petal pan sets!

I love the way this cake came out! I just wish the picture could have! The room was decorated just like the table…Green table clothes with the damask runners. It very St. Patrick’s Day without being in-your-face St. Patrick’s Day! The room was gorgeous…what’s not to love? Green…good! Damask…good! I thoroughly enjoyed making this cake!
I made this cake for the same little one as this cake, which was the first cake I ever made for someone other than family! Happy 4th Birthday, Jude!
I made this cake for a little lady turning 5. It was modeled after the latest American Doll. The birthday girl was getting one for her big day. Happy 5th Birthday, Taylor!

I created this package for a cute little man turning 1! The cake, cookies and figures were embellished with hand-painting. The smash cake was made to look like a giraffe. I love the way the whole design came together!

This post won’t be about cake (sorry!). We got 12 1/2 inches of snow dumped on us last night and school was cancelled. I’ve decided to share with you a little of what we do on our days off! We started the day with French Toast. Why? Because we have eggs coming out our ears and 3 loaves of bread, so why not! Then we made homemade soft pretzels. This is a tradition that goes back to my childhood…well, my Mom’s childhood, truth be told. The recipe at the end of the post.
The first 2 cakes were birthday cakes. I love it when cake requests come in for the same weekend that are fairly similar! I also love it when flavors match, but these two were very different! The gift box cake was Dark Chocolate Cake with Coconut Filling. The 30th birthday cake’s bottom layer was Banana Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Filling and the top layer was Vanilla White Cake with Orange Curd Filling. I like it when people are adventurous with their cake flavors too!
The cookies were for a baby shower. They were handpainted to match the invitations to the party.
