Spiderman Birthday Cake
I made this cake for the same little one as this cake, which was the first cake I ever made for someone other than family! Happy 4th Birthday, Jude!
American Doll Cake
I made this cake for a little lady turning 5. It was modeled after the latest American Doll. The birthday girl was getting one for her big day. Happy 5th Birthday, Taylor!

Topsy Turvy Vintage Toy Baby Shower Cake
The winner of the Topsy Turvy Cake from my class is:
Finding that winner proved to be a little more challenging than I expected, since no one followed the rules for posting comments! I gave you all the benefit of the doubt though and created an Excel spreadsheet with everyone’s name on it and added multiples of names for becoming Facebook Fans, Twitter Followers or Blog Subscribers. Then I copied and pasted the list into the “randomizer” at Random.org. After putting them in random order, the winner was Kathie Opel.
Kathie chose to bring her cake to her friend’s baby shower. The theme of the shower was “Vintage Toys”. The flags came from the design on her invitations. I’m thrilled with how this cake turned out! The class was very fun…great company! I learned some great techniques for making the Topsy Turvy Cake structurally sound. I will, however, be doing the Topsy Turvy Cake a little differently in the future. The cake will be a 6″ round with a 10″ round on the bottom. It should really even have another tier to get the full effect too! And it will have tapered tiers (larger at the top than at the bottom).
Congratulations to Kathie and to her friend Cara!
“I can’t thank you enough for the gorgeous cake! It was perfect, and delicious as well! Thank you so much!” ~ Kathie

Gift Box Baby Shower Cake
Grandparent's Day Cake
Here are a couple of cakes that didn’t fit into another category! The first was for a baby shower and the second was for Grandparent’s Day. Click on the individual pictures for a description of each one!
From the Gift Box Cake: “Loved it! It looked so realistic that some guests actually thought it was a present.” ~Kay

Baby Shower Cake
This cake was designed after the bedding in the baby’s room. To say that a fondant bow looks easy is true and even watching tutorials, it looks easy to do. Let me tell you folks, I have practiced LOTS and LOTS of fondant bows and they are NOT easy! This bow is the first one I’ve actually been happy with!

This cake is a sample cake for an upcoming project that has the potential to keep me very busy! I love how it turned out, but next time, the big bow will be purple! Those cupcakes are jumbo cupcakes! They are about twice the size of a normal cupcake! I’m actually liking how they came out!

Baptism Cake for the Twins
Close-up of Baptism Cake
Mickey Mouse Baby Shower Cake
The top two cakes are pictures of a Baptism cake for the twins from this cake and this cake. I wasn’t thrilled at first on how this cake came out…seems kind of flat to me, but it’s growing on me more every time I look at the picture!
The second cake was the first time I’ve actually ever modeled something to look like something else! Mickey Mouse is SO recognizable, it worried me a little to try to do something like that, but I think he turned out really cute!
Everyone loved the cake it was not flat like you said – I loved it and everyone that ate it said it was the best they ever had. The carrot cake was a big hit and they were eating the crumbs – The kids loved the strawberry cake with the filling. Guests said they never had a cake filled with fresh strawberries before. – sorry it took so long for me to put my comment. Best cake yet! – It took a lot to go above the lemon cake. ~Ginny
I am so sorry for taking so long in getting back. Everyone loved the cake and especially the children that were there. They still rave after all this time about how delicious it was. I haven’t been on your website in awhile and have seen some new cakes that I just may have to order. Thank you again for the wonderful job you did for my daughters baby shower. ~Cindy

Safari Jeep Birthday Cake
Blocks Shower Cake
Yesterday, we had a baby shower and a birthday party all rolled into one day! The baby shower was for my husband’s cousin and the birthday party was for my niece and my two boys. Both parties were fun and I’m VERY thankful everyone decided to have them in doors, because it was ONE HOT DAY yesterday!

Daisy Cake for Final Class
Daisy Cake Final
This is the cake I made last night for the class final. It is a white cake with oreo buttercream filling. It is covered in chocolate fondant and decorated with gumpaste daisies. I’m really going to miss going to these classes. The next one is wired flowers, but I’m not sure when it will be available next…hopefully soon!

Baby Shower Cake for Twins
This is another baby shower cake for the friend who is having twins (a boy and a girl). It was all yellow cake. The bottom was filled with lemon curd and the top was filled with raspberry curd. The cake is iced in buttercream and then decorated with chocolate fondant. This was a new experiment with fondant. I made the chocolate fondant myself. It tasted like fudge (YUM!), but was VERY hard to keep from cracking. I think next time, I’ll alter the recipe a little. This was only my second stacked cake, but went MUCH better this time around…less stress (a little).
