Rings Around the Razorback

Arkansas Razorbacks Cake

Arkansas Razorbacks Cake

I am thrilled with this cake!  I love it when a cake is a challenge, and I love the way this one came out!  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at the unveiling of this cake!  It was a surprise for a big Razorbacks fan that just earned his military stripes.  His wife was throwing him a big surprise party.  Congratulations, Jonathan!  Gerrr!

The Cake That Almost Was…

Movie-Themed Cake

Movie-Themed Cake

Back in August, I was contacted by a school to make a cake for their fundraising auction. Over the last several months, we’ve emailed back and forth to come up with the perfect cake for their event. I spent a few hours designing it, several hours in the last week getting the decorations finished so they had time to dry, a few hours baking, and then several more hours decorating the cake. When I left to deliver it, it looked like the above.

And I know I’m a few days late, but I hope everyone’s 2010 is better than their 2009!

50th Anniversary & 19th Birthday Cake

50th Anniversary & 19th Birthday Cake

50th Anniversary & 19th Birthday Cake

A combination 50th Anniversary and 19th Birthday cake.  This cake gave me fits trying to figure out how to work the two events together!  I like how it came out though!

A Baptism, Some Birthdays & an Anniversary

The first cake was for my husband’s cousin’s daughter’s baptism (whew!).  It was a fun cake and I enjoyed testing out some new ways to do things!

The second two cakes were ordered by my Dad for an October birthday party at his work.  I really enjoyed going back to the Wilton-flower roots, as this is my 1-year anniversary month for when I first started taking classes.  It was then that I realized how much I truly enjoyed decorating and creating cakes!  So, Thanks Dad!

Twin’s Baptism Cake and a Baby Shower

The top two cakes are pictures of a Baptism cake for the twins from this cake and this cake.  I wasn’t thrilled at first on how this cake came out…seems kind of flat to me, but it’s growing on me more every time I look at the picture!

The second cake was the first time I’ve actually ever modeled something to look like something else!  Mickey Mouse is SO recognizable, it worried me a little to try to do something like that, but I think he turned out really cute!

Everyone loved the cake it was not flat like you said – I loved it and everyone that ate it said it was the best they ever had. The carrot cake was a big hit and they were eating the crumbs – The kids loved the strawberry cake with the filling. Guests said they never had a cake filled with fresh strawberries before. – sorry it took so long for me to put my comment. Best cake yet! – It took a lot to go above the lemon cake.  ~Ginny

I am so sorry for taking so long in getting back. Everyone loved the cake and especially the children that were there. They still rave after all this time about how delicious it was. I haven’t been on your website in awhile and have seen some new cakes that I just may have to order. Thank you again for the wonderful job you did for my daughters baby shower.  ~Cindy
